helicopter-forces

As a consequence of Newton's First Law, objects will maintain a steady speed unless acted upon by an external force. For a helicopter, that external force comes from the interaction between the blades and the air, as well as gravity. The joystick controls can be clicked to apply a steady force, until that force is removed (when the center of the joystick is clicked).

The interactive page, captured in the image below, will allow you to fly the plane, and show whether you crashed or not. Can you safely fly and land the helicopter?

The Discover tab give you a chance to learn the joystick controls.

The Explore tab adds the instrument panel, to allow you to monitor your speed and location.

The Master tab sets up a more challenging target.

The More tab leads here.
