There are so many ways to strive for excellence! Here is a starter set of suggestions for the Friendship Detector project. I would suggest that three of these would show your commitment to excellence.
Polished Look. Some projects do the job but look kind of sloppy. Did you give yours a distinctive and thoughtful appearance?
Enhanced Output. Some projects use the continuity detector we made in class as their friendship indicator. Did you find another battery-operated output that signals a potential friend?
Incisive Questions. Some questions are vague or easy to fake. Did you come up with really interesting and thoughtful questions that truly reveal their personality?
Junk-drawer Construction. Some projects are made with manufactured switches or electronics kits. Did you “MacGyver” switches out of scrap material that could be found most anywhere?
Reliable Operation. Some projects work every time, while others require some intervention to ensure that all of the connections are functioning as intended. Does yours work reliably?
Portable Device. A device that can be passed around is more likely to be used than one where people have to wait in line to use it. Can yours be passed around in a crowd?
Alternative Scenario. The friendship scenario is just one way that AND and OR logic can help process complex decision-making. Did you come up with another binary output for an alternative scenario?.
Some other special feature approved by your teacher!
